We use thermal-imaging technology, or thermography, to find termite and other pest infestations in buildings and houses. Our infrared camera "sees" inside walls to gives you visible proof of termite infestations and to accurately shows the extent of the problem.

Termite detection is difficult with traditional methods that literally rely on knocking on wood. Thermal imaging can locate termites without destroying any wood. It’s quick, effective, and does not require drilling or poking holes in walls.

In the United States, termites cause enormous economic damage to buildings. (See Termites)

How It Works
When termites invade buildings, the heat patterns of the walls, floors and roof change due to the presence of the pests. The thermal camera records this heat pattern change and indicates the exact location of the infestation.

A color image shows hot spots as red or yellow, and cold spots as blue or purple. These hot spots indicate termite infestations. Our operators understand building construction. They're trained to analyze thermal images and then make a plan that will eliminate the infestation — and prevent future problems.

In this example, the thermal imaging camera reveals a yellow hot spot in the top right corner of this door jamb. This is where the termites were very active and had eaten away most of the wood.

Because thermal technology detects termite problems early, eradication can begin before the damage spreads. This can save the owner thousands of dollars in repairs.

Finding the termite problem with Thermal Imaging

Termite found with thermal cameraThese images show a termite queen that was found with a thermal camera. Thermal inspections are the best way to accurately locate termite infestations. The property owner can then make an informed decision based on these images, and select the preferred method of fixing the problem. (See Termites)

Finally, after we fix the problem, we schedule a follow-up thermal inspection to ensure the termites have been eradicated from the property. As a general rule, properties in termite-prone areas need to have an annual inspection.
